Confidence Is Key To Personal Success: Build It If There Are Issues

The real foundation of success in many people is their self-confidence that powers them to overcome the hurdles to reach goals of any kind– personal, emotional, education, career or in any field. 

Confidence is also about letting go of the fear of failure. A person with self-confidence will be optimistic and ready to brave obstacles that may come across in his journey to achieve the goals in all stages of life.   

Confidence is not inborn

However, confidence is not something inborn and develops over time. Self-confidence is a valuable individual asset and William James, a famous psychologist of the 19th century also mentions that “believing in oneself” is the key to personal success. 

Thinking favourably about oneself makes a person happier. Also, faith in one’s ability or morality makes it easier to convince and influence others.

Self confidence also improves an individual’s motivation or morale while handling challenges and help to exert on the pursuit of goals ignoring setbacks and distractions. 

Perils of low self-confidence

However, a big section of people of all ages including students face the problem of low self-confidence. As a result, they face inability and inaction and not able to add anything to any process. 

The lack of confidence holds back people from reaching their full potential. However, if there is a problem of low self-confidence, don’t worry, it can be solved.

This risky personal situation develops from a combination of circumstances, poor self-image, low self-worth, resistance towards change and pushed to mistreatment and undervaluation.

Tips for building confidence

Building confidence is only a matter of concerted action, positive thoughts, and an “I can do” attitude to bolster self-belief.

When confidence zooms, self-esteem will grow and add a new vigour to chase the goals. Building self-confidence also requires a positive attitude and self-discipline when setbacks confront you. 

Self-confidence will also overturn many false beliefs that had been with a person and install a judgemental capability to distinguish between right and wrong actions. 

The repair to self-confidence problems precedes the ambition to improve, self-acceptance and awareness of situations that increase or decrease confidence levels.

Self-discovery without being overcritical gives the ability to see past achievements in a new light and prepare the success stories to repeat. Self-confidence also people to handle tasks in an organised manner without giving space to anxiety.

Remove self-doubt. Never doubt our abilities and think we are inferior, or unprepared. This will lead to avoiding people and situations that could help us grow.

Go beyond the comfort zone: To add more confidence give yourself a little push and try something new that was deemed hard and keep repeating the process. You will experience a new confidence welling up with every step forward.

Add value and consistency to homework. For students, doing assignments, projects, preparing for class, tests, and quizzes is the defence against anxiety and stress.

Be the real you. Stay in your real self and assume no fake personality. Insecurities can be cured and no need to waste energy in hiding them.

In short, when confidence is restored in a person; they appear realistic with a secure feeling that they can depend on their skills and strengths to tackle challenges including performances, and competitions.
